The first program of its kind to involve community groups in finding ways to bring more voters to the polls.

In small group discussions, community organizations will:

  • Explore the reasons why their constituencies aren't voting
  • Consider ways to address their specific challenges
  • Plan a voter service event, with help from Summit organizers, that will meet their needs

Alex Niemczewski of BallotReady will explain how people can use the system to get information before they vote.

1:00 Small Group Discussion

Each table will discuss the challenges of their particular constituencies: Why aren't people voting? Led by LWV Chicago member Catherine Enright and moderated by UIC political science students.

2:00 Voter Service Events to Meet Your Needs

Participants will learn how to tailor events for their organizations. Led by LWV Chicago Voter Services Chair Helene Gabelnick; Jan Dorner, League of Women Voters of Illinois; and Shobhana Verma, Chicago Board of Elections.
